The Kick In the Cast – Episode 2

Holy crap! I’m not dead.

Far from it, actually. While life has definitely thrown me around a fair bit lately, I’m back on my feet and I’ve been working on the long-promised re-write to ‘Outcast.’ The writing and editing parts are finished, and the recordings are finally sounding good to my ears.

I’ve also started a new show: The Kick In the Cast, which is actually an old podcast I used to do when I first got started. Moving forward, that’s where any new content will be posted, but for now, I’ll be cross-posting episodes of KITC on this feed as well.

Episode 2 of KITC is where I’ve begun posting the remastered version of ‘Outcast.’ I’ll be running episodes weekly until the end of the book, by which time I’ll have the sequel ready to go. Part of the new show is keeping everyone up to date on my progress.

If you’d like to subscribe to the new show, you can do so at http://feeds.feedburner.com/kickinthecast

Chapter 22

The aftermath of Dalan’s intervention prompts an encounter with his Grandfather, at which point the young tiger relates his and Te’Ki’s suspicion about the Ka’al P’ack’s fate. Dalan also learns what price he may have to pay in order to not only regain his honor, but also to save his family.

His internal conflict doesn’t escape Te’Ki’s eye, who finally takes matters into her own hands to set her beloved tiger back on the right path…and begin a path of her own.

Chapter 19

A potential bomb threat shuts down all operations at the docks, and Dalan is tasked to help locate it. As he investigates with his assigned team, he learns a bit more that pushes him to begin asking the hard questions about his exile.

However, when he returns home and begins his investigation, the truth that’s revealed proves to be a bit more than even he can deal with…

Chapter 17

Dalan’s internal conflict over what he did in that alley finally catches up with him, and in his frustration he awakens one of the aspects of training as a L’au Tari. Thinking this to be some kind of plot, he confronts his master and learns yet another hidden truth.

After, he is confronted by his Grandfather, who imparts a harsh life lesson on the young tiger, one that he’ll have to resolve on his own someday.
